HIROSE, T., HIGASHI, R., IKEDA, H., TAMIIRA, K. and Suzuxi, T. Effect of Ethanol on Adrenaline anal Noradrenaline Secretion of the Adrenal Glandin the Dog. Tohoku J. exp. Med., 1973, 109 (1), 85-88 Conscious dogs were infused intravenously with ethanol solution in a dose of 0.7-1.0 g/kg. Before and after the ethanol infusion, the adrenal venous blood samples were collected and analyzed for adrenaline and noradrenaline fluorimetrically. In dogs infused with ethanol in a dose of 0.7g/kg, the blood ethanol concentration was elevated to 70120 ma/100 ml. The animals became depressed but did not sleep. No change in adrenaline and noradrenaline secretion of the adrenal gland was observed. In dogs infused with 1.0 g/kg of ethanol, the blood ethanol concentration just after the end of the infusion was 191-241mg/100 ml. The animals lay down and slept deeply. In 3 out of 5 dogs the adrenal medullary secretion rates remainedunal tered and in the other 2 dogs a definite increase in adrenaline and noradrenaline secretion was observed after the administration of ethanol. ------adrenal medullary secretion; adrenaline and noradrenaline secretion rate; blood ethanol concentration

Effect of muscular exercise on adrenaline and noradrenaline secretion of the adrenal gland in the dog.
In 8 unanesthetized dogs, blood samples from the adrenal vein were collected by a modification of the method of Satake and his co-workers, and analyzed fluorimetrically for adrenaline and noradrenaline. Dogs paced by an attendant on a bicycle were run 2.0-13.1 km. Seven out of 8 dogs exhausted completely at the end of running. The adrenaline and noradrenaline secretion rates increas ed markedly...
متن کاملRelation between Proepileptic Activity of Indomethacin and Adrenal Gland Hormones
The role of inflammation has been shown in the pathogenesis of epilepsy, while glucocorticoids and adrenaline have anti-inflammatory effects. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of adrenaline, prednisolone, and indomethacin on caffeine-induced epilepsy (epileptiform activity) in rats and to examine the mechanism of the pro-epileptic effect of indomethacin. The adrenalect...

متن کاملThree-dimensional Volumetric Ultrasonography of Enlarged Adrenal Gland in Dog
Objective: Detection and evaluation of adrenal glands are complex problems in conventional ultrasonography in dogs. Using three-dimensional (3D) ultrasonography (US) in adrenal gland volume evaluation can add new potential for further adrenal studies. Design: Descriptive study Animals: a total of 10 mix breed dogs Procedures: The dogs underwent two dimensional (2D) and 3D US of the adrenal g...

Hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs), which have the ability to differentiate into various types of blood cell lines, are usually separate from the bone marrow. But these cells are also present in a small amount in the peripheral blood, and their amounts increase in blood following injection of G-CSF. However, the mechanism involved in moving HSCs under the influence of G-CSF is unknown. The aim of ...
